On getting to the entrance, he was approached by the hoodlums who demanded that he gave them his phone and all other possession he had on him. Before he could think to resist, they attacked him with a machete, a kitchen knife and a plank. Though he kept screaming for help, none was forthcoming and he tried fighting the hoodlums. He was able to throw one of them to the ground but was overpowered due to serious blood loss from the cuts he had sustained on his chest, his left arm and his back.

The hoodlums carted away with his phone, a Tecno L8 Plus smartphone. Meanwhile, with the help of one Peter Francis of Accounting Department he was able to get the attention of a fellow student who together with other Josites helped in transporting him to the University Clinic as he was unconscious.

He has received treatment and has been discharged from the Clinic. He together with the Naijagotit.com team and leaders of the National Union of Taraba State Students (NUTASS) have laid a formal complaint at the Man O’ War Base of Naraguta Hostel who promised to forward it to the appropriate authorities.

Meanwhile, students are advised to avoid secluded and dark corners and walking alone at night around the campus as measures are put in place to boost the security on campus.

Pray for total recovery of Christopher Israel as an injury to one is an injury to all.

  1. All this attacks on is a disgrace to this prestigious institution. Am not praying for a worst attack on the life of any student but imagine the case of cheap robbery in our various hostels shows how poor the security of our lives is in this. If drastic measures are not put in place to deal away with this issues students are prone to more attacks as if anyone who is concern can go and see for his/ herself how the students are living in darkness in the various hostels. Incase you ever see light they are shines from rooms or the ones protecting transformers, our hostels need light and a change of security systems. Just saying my mind.
